Welcome Parents

We value parents & families for their love and commitment to their children.

As a parent/guardian, you play the most important role in your child’s life. You are encouraged to become involved in your child’s daily activities in some way. We welcome you to donate your time, skills, suggestions and ideas.

Our programs are staffed with Early Childhood Educators (ECEs) with College or University certificates, as well as Child Care Assistants (CCAs) and inclusion support staff. All staff are trained in First Aid and CPR and have been screened by the Winnipeg Police Department and Child Abuse Registry before employment.

  • Children of staff and board members
  • Children who are currently enrolled in the Centre
  • Children who have siblings in the Centre
  • Deaf and CODA preschool children (PCC Pembina)

Child care spaces are not guaranteed as your child graduates from infant to preschool to school age. Priority will be followed as outlined however we may offer you a child care space at one of our alternate locations to maintain your enrolment as your child graduates.

It is imperative for staff to know when your child will not be in attendance at the Centre. Please notify the staff of any changes, illness, appointments or special activities at the school.

Parents are required to give 2 weeks written notice prior to withdrawing their child/ren from our program. In lieu of this, the family will be responsible for payment of these 2 weeks.

PCC will give 2 weeks’ notice to parents/guardians of a child where it is necessary for said child to be withdrawn.

Information concerning you and your family is given to us and kept by us in the strictest confidence. We do not release information in your child’s file except with your written consent. Further, we respect your child’s privacy and therefore do not allow the children to be photographed by persons outside the Centre without prior permission. We do not allow causal visitors to assess or test the children. If such a case presents itself, notices are sent out to the parents and specific permission is required.

PCC is a government subsidized not-for-profit childcare and early learning facility. PCC fund-raises throughout the year to enhance the quality of our programing and maintain our facilities and equipment. We encourage all families to participate. Should you choose to donate in lieu of fundraising, PCC can provide you with a Charitable Receipt for every minimum donation of $20.00 or higher.
